The home ministry has served a show-cause notice to Lawyers’ Collective, an NGO run by prominent activist-lawyer Indira Jaising, on charges of violating rules related to accepting foreign donations.
Sources said the notice was slapped on the NGO after the ministry found “discrepancies” in its account books on foreign contribution received between 2006-07 and 2013-14. Jaising, a former additional solicitor-general (ASG), is the secretary of the NGO.
