Man hacked to death in broad daylight

 A 20-year-old history-sheeter was hacked to death in broad daylight by members of a rival gang here in Mico Layout police limits.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Deepu, a resident of Bovi Colony at Suddaguntepalya in Mico-Layout. Deepu was not in good terms with one of his relatives named Anand, with whom he had picked a fight on an earlier occasion. When Deepu tried to pick a fight with Anand again, he called his associates, along with whom he chased Deepu and attacked him with lethal weapons. The gang fled the spot after attacking him.

 A few local residents rushed Deepu to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to death, said the police. Deepu and his mother were staying together at Suddaguntepalya. Raju, Deepu’s father, had married two women and Deepu was his first wife’s son.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that financial disputes between Deepu and Anand led to differences. Deepu was booked for theft in more than 20 cases.
