An unapologetic BJP legislator Om Prakash Sharma on Wednesday stuck to his stand that there was nothing derogatory about his statements on AAP legislator Alka Lamba in the Assembly.

On the contrary, the BJP leaders said unethical language was used against Sharma and other BJP legislators by women AAP legislators in the House.

The BJP’s response came hours after the AAP members protested outside the house of the BJP lawmaker in east Delhi earlier in the day.

On Tuesday, BJP MLA was suspended from the Delhi Assembly for using derogatory remark for AAP MLA Alka Lamba. Even Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta had said in the Assembly on Tuesday that he would apologise only if the AAP MLA apologises for unparliamentary behaviour.

MLA O P Sharma said on Wednesday that there are only three BJP legislators in the Legislative Assembly but still they have created pressure on the government to discuss important issues.

“We are not only trying to create pressure for tabling the report of Fourth Finance Commission which is vital for the municipal corporations but also demanding tabling of Lokpal bill and appointment of Lokayukta,” he said.

“We are also demanding representation of women in Delhi government but the Kejriwal government is raising the issue of drug addiction in the House only to complete the time fixed for the presentation.”

Even Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay said that although the people of Delhi have witnessed anarchy by the AAP MLAs just after the victory in elections but the incidents during the last two days have surprised them.

“Two MLAs of Kejriwal’s party who have been opposing VIP culture created chaos in the marriage function of two families only to show their arrogance. Besides this the reports of political romance with Lalu Yadav have also troubled him and he is trying to find a way to get out of it,” he said.

“AAP MLA from Rohtash Nagar Sarita Singh fought with the common people and a policeman in a marriage ceremony in east Delhi because the cop asked the ‘VIP’ MLA to remove her car parked in the middle of the road which was causing traffic jam.”

MLA Sharma said nobody has forgotten the violence near Hanuman Mandir in Yamuna Bazaar on the issue of drug addiction by Lamba some months ago.

“Later it became clear that the entire controversy was created by Lamba herself. Similarly, an issue was made on the use of words by me but have the Kejriwal government and Lamba been asked why did they indulge in violence in Yamuna Bazaar?”
