CCB busts call diversion racket; 2 arrested

 The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths with the help of Telecom Enforcement Resource and Monitoring Cell (TERM Cell) officials have busted a racket of converting international call into local call, by arresting two persons.

The arrests were made during the raid on  Bin Spot Techno Solutions in Mathikere and a house in Yeshwantpur.

The two arrested have been identified as Ravi Kumar (50) and Anil Kumar, (38). Two laptops, three mobile phones, as many as 97 SIM cards, 64 antennas and other equipment were seized from the duo.

They were operating the racket for the past two months, police said. The duo used to bypass international calls with the help of an Internet connection which was connected to gateways.

With the help of numerous SIM cards, they were converting international calls into local calls. The TERM cell had received a tip-off on the racket and it had alerted the CCB. The two have cheated the government several lakhs of rupees in the form of telephone charges, the police said.
