The differences in the JD(S) seems to be growing wider. On Saturday, it was Nagamangala MLA N Cheluvarayaswamy’s turn to hit out at his party State president H D Kumaraswamy

.

Taking strong objection to Kumaraswamy having called some of the MLAs, including Zameer Ahmed Khan and himself as ‘Congress agents’, Cheluvarayaswamy said that Kumaraswamy should have held talks with the MLAs before speaking to mediapersons.

Speaking to mediapersons here in Bengaluru, he said, “Kumaraswamy’s statements have hurt me. We are also senior leaders in the party. We approached Congress for an alliance in Legislative Council polls only after obtaining the consent of JD(S) national president H D  Deve Gowda. Despite knowing this, Kumaraswamy has accused us,” he said.

Cheluvarayaswamy said that they would meet Gowda and seek to know from him the reason for Kumaraswamy making such statements.

He said that if there were any differences, Kumaraswamy could have called the MLAs for talks. The legislators too have helped to build the party over the years, he added.

Meanwhile, the party City MLAs Khan, Akhanda Srinivasmurthy and Gopalaiah met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during the day.

According to sources, the MLAs are said to have apologised to Siddaramaiah over the entire alliance debacle, and for having wasted Congress’s time.
