If the discussions on intolerance and commitment to Constitution in both the Houses of Parliament went off without any adjournment on Tuesday, it was partly due to the floor management of the ruling BJP.

A day after CPM MP Mohammad Salim’s religion based remark against Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had led to four adjournments in the Lower House.

The BJP warned its MPs not to “fall prey to the tactics of Opposition” and get provoked to make outlandish statements marring crucial parliamentary proceedings which the government can ill afford as it is focussed on getting key legislations especially on GST passed in the about one-month long winter session.
