Protest demanding loan waiver

Demanding the Union government to waive off 50 per cent of the loans borrowed by the farmers from nationalised banks, the members of Kissan Kheth Mazdoor Congress and Raitha Sangha staged a protest on Monday.

The protesters who arrived at 6.30 am at the railway station, shouted slogans at the Union government. Addressing the protesters, Kissan Kheth Mazdoor Congress state President Sachin Meega said, “the Union government should waive off 50 per cent of the loans borrowed by the farmers from nationalised banks.

The State government should also waive off 50 per cent of the loans and interest on the loans borrowed by the farmers from cooperative banks. The MPs and MLAs should demand the loans borrowed by the farmers to be waived off.

The BJP should set aside Raitha Chiatanya Yatre and demand for the same. He accused the Centre of being supportive of corporate sector.
