New stadium for Tottenham

The popular British football club, Tottenham Hotspur, has picked the UK-based developer Mace as its construction partner for its new stadium development in London.

Mace will be a part of the project team and will be responsible for developing the stadium’s pre-construction plans and detailed construction programmes. They would also be coordinating with the Club to secure specialist sub-contract tenders for the new stadium.

The Construction Index reports that the new stadium will cost around 400 million GBP. Mace’s chief executive, Mark Reynolds, believes that the project is of utmost importance as it is a flagship development. He also believes that this will act as the area’s catalyst for regeneration. The stadium is expected to have a seating capacity of 61,000 spectators.

It will also lead to the development of 579 new apartments and a 180-room hotel alongside the stadium. The stadium’s construction work is slated to be completed in 2018.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman, Daniel Levy, expressed the Club’s delight in having Mace a part of their plans as they are share their commitment to ensuring that the development will be first-class.

He also added that the stadium’s construction is another step towards the delivery of one of the best stadiums in the world.
