“If BJP thinks they have insulted me with such a statement they are wrong. They have insulted the themselves and the superior culture of Kodagu,”said Vishwanath.
Addressing the reporters after taking part in the protest by Congress, he was reacting to the statement made by ZP Education and Health Standing Committee President Manu Muthappa.

“I have visited Kodagu more number of times when compared to the past MP.  I have toured the region and I have got to know the problems faced by the people here. I will discuss the problems with the elected representatives and officials and them try to solve the same by taking it up at the government level,” he said and added that if the BJP leader considers this as rejoicement, it shows his level of understanding and ignorance.
Responding to the ‘Save Kodagu from terrorists’ campaign launched by Hindu organisations, Vishwanath said that people will soon stage a campaign saying ‘Save us from BJP’.
He said that BJP does not know the problems of the people. “Nothing can be achieved by making people fight each other on basis of caste, creed and religion. What will happen to the lives of the people when state fails to get efficient leadership,” he said and added that BJP should be shunned out of the state.

“This government has even failed to make proper promise to people. Kodagu and entire Karnataka state is posed to threat by BJP. It is as dangerous as terroists. Only people can save the state from this terror group called BJP,” he said.

On the V Sommanna issue, Vishwanath said that Governor is a learned man who has worked at various high capacities. “Being an Advocate himself, Governor has taken a just action. This action should not be politicised,” he said.
