Eateries fined Rs 1.85 lakh

BBMP raided hotels and slapped a fine of Rs 1.85 lakh for unscientific disposal of waste on Saturday.

Palike Joint Commissioner for South Zone, A B Hemachandra in a press release, said that Nobel Exchange company has set up a waste processing unit for hotel waste. Despite eateries being told to hand over waste to lorries owned by Exchange, few eateries continue to dispose waste unscientifically and  are not handing over to the above company, he further stated. The hotels that were slapped with fine and notice are Nandini hotel, Pavithra Paradise, Nagarjuna, Sri Sagar, Ugadi, Upahara Darshini, Iyengar Bakery and Hot Chips,  all located  in Jayanagar and surroundings.
