2 held for passing lewd comments

Two bike-borne molesters who passed lewd comments on two sisters and thrashed their father when the latter tried to intervene last week in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj were arrested, Police said.

The culprits, identified as Muvin Azad Saifi, 22, and Pintu Singh, 22, are both residents of Mehrauli in south Delhi.

The incident happened on December 29, 2015, when two bike borne youngsters passed lewd comments on two sisters. Their father, who was present at the spot tried to stop the culprits from harassing his daughters, was assaulted by the duo.

Seeing the incident, a crowd of onlookers started to move towards the spot, making the culprits run away from the spot leaving their Bajaj Pulsar motor cycle behind.  During the incident, minor injuries were received by the father, police informed.

On the basis of the number plate of the two-wheeler, the ownership of the motorcycle was obtained but it was found to be fake.

Then on the basis of the engine number and chasis number, the original owner of the motor cycle was traced and interrogated. On enquiry, the motor cycle was found to be stolen from the area of Malviya Nagar. 

An intensive search was carried out in the police stations of Mehrauli, Vasant Kunj South and Vasant Vihar regarding the bike borne youngsters involved in this incident.

 A number of pickets were put up on the roads leading towards Vasant Vihar and Mehrauli as it was reported by the girls that the youngsters ran towards Sanjay Van after the incident.

On the basis of the clue “Villian is Back”, written on the backside of the motorcycle, door to door checking of Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle in the area of Kishangarh, Mehruali, Munirka, Malviya Nagar, Hauz Rani, Adchini and Neb Sarai was conducted with the help of beat staff and local police station staff and intensive search was carried out.

After extensive search, Saifi and Singh were arrested on Saturday around 6 pm from Mehrauli.
On interrogation the duo revealed that they had stolen this motorcycle from Hauz Rani and since that day, they were using this motor cycle by fixing the fake number plate on it.
