Host of B'luru writers to take part in Jaipur literature fest

A host of writers from Namma Bengaluru will participate in the ninth edition of the ‘ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival’ that will take place from January 21 to 25 at Diggi Palace Hotel in Jaipur.

Anjum Hasan and Anita Nair will be among the authors travelling from Bengaluru for the festival.

While Hasan will be part of a discussion with women writers on the challenges they face in finding private and personal space to write and dream, novelist Anita Nair will be part of a debate on the sources and inspiration of her work, according to a release from the fest organisers.

Discussion
Bengaluru-based journalist, editor and author Raghu Karnad, author of ‘Farthest Field: An Indian Story of the Second World War’ will take part in a discussion on the marginalised and the forgotten role of India in the First and Second World War.

Karnad will also lead a conversation with British historian and author, Ben Macintyre on Kim Philby, the most notorious British defector and Soviet mole in history.

Renowned Kannada writer Vivek Shanbhag will moderate a panel of writers’ discussion on the diversities and unities of the twenty-four Indian languages. Shanbhag will also draw on his many short story collections, novels and plays, particularly his latest book, Ghachar Gochar.

Writers and Festival Directors William Dalrymple and Namita Gokhale have invited authors from across the globe to take part in the five-day programme. Details can be found on www.jaipurliteraturefestival.org
