There cannot be a better description for Darzi On Call than ‘Pick. Stitch. Deliver.’, which also serves as it’s tagline. The city-based service makes custom tailored-quality clothes available at the comfort of one’s home. Launched in 2015, Darzi on Call was born as a solution to the unending delays caused by boutiques and local tailors, along with the lack of home-delivery options.

“A bunch of us were sitting, when Nazia (a friend) hung up the phone after speaking to someone at a boutique. She told us that she had given a basic suit for stitching about a month ago for which she had spoken at the boutique nearly 15 times and visited them
almost thrice. What irritated her was not just the silly excuses for the delay in delivery, but also that she had almost forgotten how that suit looked or what design she had confirmed,” says Avinash Kumar, director, Darzi On Call.

He adds that further discussion on the same led to a conclusion that customers need quality service and timely delivery. “That was it, and the idea for Darzi On Call came about,” he says.

To avail their services, users can book appointments through call or their website, www.darzioncall.com, after which a dedicated team of designers and fashion consultants will visit them during the booked time slot with design options and swatches (a collection of fabric samples in the form of a book). Users can provide them with a fabric or select from their variety. The visiting fashion consultant also takes measurement. After everything is done, the garment is delivered at the doorstep after a few days.

“Our standard delivery time is minimum eight working days, except where designing is required; embroidery work is needed; or national/international sourcing of clothes is required. As our services are custom-made, so are our prices,” Ali Reza, co-director, tells Metrolife.

Currently providing services in the Delhi-NCR region, the Darzi On Call team comprises of certified in-house designers, fashion consultants and experienced tailors, masters, embroiders. They stitch everything from men, women and kids wear to corporate wear; and even stitch replicas of anything a customer may desire.

The team sources material from markets across the city like Chandni Chwok, Lajpat Nagar, Nehru Place and Govind Puri. They also buy online from across the country and the globe.

That’s not all, they also offer alteration services which are catered to within 24 to 48 hours.
