The two-wheeler industry may have faced challenging times in 2015, but Pune-based auto major Bajaj Auto managed to maintain its leadership position in the entry-level as well as sports segments, during the year.

“In the entry-level, we had a market share of 23 per cent in January 2015. We managed to increase our share to 36 per cent for the nine months ended December 2015, as against our target of 35 per cent, thanks to the CT100 and the new Platina,” Bajaj Auto motorcycle business president Eric Vas said.

As far as the sports segment is concerned, we had a 44 per cent market share last year. Our share now stands at 53 per cent as against our target of 52 per cent, Vas added.

He said, the company is committed towards more products. “We will be launching the new Brand X in this quarter. Besides, we will look at sustaining our presence in the entry and sports segments,” Vas said, adding that an exciting launch in the entry segment is likely this month.

The company had launched the CT100 and the new Platina, besides the AS150, AS200, RS200 and 3 new Avengers last year.
