The German Students National Football Team trounced local side Ozone FC 5-0 in a friendly match at Bangalore Football Stadium on Monday.

In a one-sided affair witnessed by a neutral audience of close to 1000 fans, saw the Germans run the local side ragged with a confident attacking display.

Ozone found themselves on the back foot right from the opening whistle as the visitors were unrelentless offesively and found the opener in the fifth minute.

Matthias Haeder ran past a couple of defenders, rounded the goalkeeper and slotted home calmly. Majority of the first period was played in Ozone’s half but they began defending resolutely after the initial few minutes.

The Germans netted their second 11 minutes before the break as Ralf Kettemann’s freekick from the right flank found Phil Weimer unmarked at the far post and the midfielder nodded home the header.

The home team started the second half well but the Germans’ physicality just proved too much for the local club to overpower.
