Members appointed to child rights panel

The Women and Child Development department has finally appointed members for the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR). The panel had no members for several months.

The appointments have been made with effect from January 18 for a period of three years. The list of new members include Aparna Kolla, Kalaburagi; Vanitha N Thoravi, Vijayapura;  Ananda B Lobo, Belagavi; Mariswamy Y, Bengaluru; Allipura, Yadgir and K B Roopa Naika, Davangere, according to a notification from the Department.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Kripa Alva, chairperson of the Commission said the first meeting with the newly appointed members would be held on January 25.
