Mahishi report not being implemented: Minister

The Union and State governments besides private companies and public sector undertakings were not implementing the recommendations of the Sarojini Mahishi report in their entirety, said Labour Minister P T Parameshwar Naik on Thursday.

The report recommends reservations for Kannadigas in various jobs.

Report sought  
Addressing the media here, Naik said that he had sought a comprehensive
report on the implementation of the report to identify and rectify the said anomalies.

According to Naik, though Kannadigas had been accommodated in ‘C’ and ‘D’ group categories, less than 20 per cent of those in A and B group categories were Kannadigas.

The minister said that once he received the report, he would hold discussions with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Industries Minister R V Deshpande to rectify the lacunae.
