President Pranab Mukherjee will host a lunch on Friday for 100 women achievers selected in an online contest.
The contest, 100 The Women Achievers, was conducted by Women and Child Development Ministry through polling on social networking site Facebook. Those who have received honour include Pincy Rani Jangara (boxer), Pallavi Tiwari (basketball player), Swati Tiwari (writer), Bhakit Sharma (sarpanch of village near Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh), Poonam Shorti (person with disability who cleared MBA), Vijyalaxmi Devarayan (human resource expert from Chennai) and Rangu Souria (social worker from Darjeeling).
The program has been scheduled at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the occasion of first anniversary of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ scheme.
