Two minors met their watery graves in two separate incidents in the City on Sunday. A seven-year-old boy drowned in a stone quarry at Tulsipura in Kanakapura.

The deceased has been identified as Naveen, son of Govindappa from Vinayakanagar, who worked in a garage.

As it was a holiday, the boy had gone to swim in a stone quarry with six of his friends around 11 am. However, he was washed away along with the water current as he could not swim. His cry for help went in vain as his friends too were not swimmers.

The villagers rushed to the spot only to find him dead. Talaghattapura police have booked a case.

5-yr-old drowns

A five-year old child drowned while trying to catch fish in a pond near LBS Town in Yelahanka Old Town here on Sunday. The child, Deena, who was playing with his cousin in the afternoon, went to the pond with a bucket to try and catch fish.

Once at the pond, he fell into the water accidentally, said the police. The incident came to light only when his sister went in search of him. The police personnel recovered his body later in the evening.
