Karnataka’s Akarsh Gaonkar and Naisha Srivastav entered the boys’ and girls’ singles finals respectively in the KTPPA’s Yonex AITA under-12 Super Series Tennis Championship here on Thursday.
In the semifinal, Akarsh rallied to beat State team-mate and the fourth seed, Anmay Yogesh Devraj 2-6, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 and set up a title clash with the top seed Udit Gogoi of Assam.
Gogoi cruised past the third seed, Vishesh Jain Patel, of Gujarat 6-2, 6-1 in the other semifinal.
The top seed Naisha Srivastav, maintaining her fine form, outplayed the third seed, Yana Dhamija of Haryana 6-2, 6-4 in the girls’ semifinal. Naisha meets the fourth seed, Thanushita Reddy in the final.
Thanushita knocked out the second seed, Sanjana Sirimala 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-2 in an all Telangana semifinals.
