Man accused of converting youths tonsured in UP

Tension prevailed in Uttar Pradesh's Orai town, about 200 kilometres from here, after Bajrang Dal activists tonsured a man accused of converting three youths to Christianity and making them eat beef.

Police sources here said the saffron activists tonsured the man, identified as Awadhesh Kumar, and rode him around the town on a donkey. They arrested five Bajrang Dal activists over the incident, sources said.

It was alleged that Awadhesh took three youths from his village to Mirzapur, where they were converted to Christianity and were made to eat beef. Awadhesh denied the allegations and said the youth merely attended a religious meeting.
