<p>Vice Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) M G Krishnan retired on Saturday and handed over the charge to Registrar P S Nayak.<br /><br /></p>.<p> He said that he handed over the charge to the registrar following direction from the Governor’s office.<br /><br />“Three years in office has been both bitter and sweet. I am leaving with a heavy heart as the de-recognition of courses could not be revoked during my term. But, I am retiring with a hope as the authorities concerned have assured that the de-recognition would be revoked soon,” he said.<br /><br /> Nayak said: “As I have received the direction from Governor’s office to take charge, I have assumed office. I will be in-charge till further directions are issued by the Governor’s office.”<br />The courses offered by Karnataka State Open University since 2011 have been de-recognised following an order of the University Grants Commission (UGC) issued in June 2015 for violating the norms laid out by the UGC on distant education.<br />DH News Service</p>
