Khatri, Dhankar to watch out for at SAG

 Mausam Khatri, Amit Dhankar and Nikki will be the wrestlers to watch out for at the South Asian Games, scheduled to be held at Guwahati and Shillong from February 5th to 16th.

During the three-day wrestling event, 16-member team comprising eight men and an equal number of women will be seen in action from February 6 to 8.

While the experienced Dhankar and Khatri are expected to do well in the tournament, up and coming grapplers such as Pradeep Kumar, Rajneesh and Ravindra are also expected to put their best foot forward.

In women's category, Nikki will spearhead the attack.
The president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said both men's and women's teams are well-prepared to take on the best grapplers from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.

"All the Indian wrestlers are well prepared and they will emerge on top at the South Asian Games," said Singh.

Men: Ravindra (57kg, Har), Pradeep Kumar (61kg, SCCB), Rajnessh (65kg, SCCB), Amit Dhankar (70kg, Har), Pradeep (74kg, SCCB), Gopal Yadav (86kg, RSPB), Mausam Khatri (97kg, Har) and Mandeep (125kg, Har).

Women: Priyanka Singh (48kg, UP), Mamta Rani (53kg, Goa), Archana Tomar (55kg, UP), Manju (58kg, Har), Manisha (60kg, Har), Shilpi Soran (63kg, UK), Rajni (69kg, UP) and Nikki (75kg, Har). PTI CM AH CM 02031842
