Officials will be held responsible for fund lapse, says Udupi ZP CEO

Udupi Zilla Panchayat CEO Priyanka Mary Francis said the officials will be held responsible for lapse of funds.

Speaking at the review meet of progress in various government schemes, the CEO directed the EOs of taluk panchayats to submit the report on review meets that were held at taluk level. She ordered the officials to try to reach the targets. 

The lapse of funds would incur stringent action against the officials. There would be no tolerance for lapse of funds owing to officials’ apathy.

She also looked into the projects taken up by MESCOM and drinking water projects. As many as 1,005 rural drinking water works have been completed at a cost of Rs 1,026.73 lakh. 74 construction works through MESCOM have been completed, out of which 28 are in Udupi and 19 are in Karkala.

Francis said there should be adequate supply of food to anganawadis. 

Officials added that out of 22 buildings sanctioned under RIDF-13 programme in the Women and Child Welfare Department, 20 are completed.
