The Press Council of India on Monday censured (Gauri) ‘Lankesh Patrike’ and ‘Rajya Suddigara’ for “publishing defamatory articles.” The order was passed during the three-day sitting of the Council in the City. Former Supreme Court Judge and PCI Chairman Chandramauli Kumar Prasad presided over the hearing.
In another case, the advocate appearing for the Marathi daily ‘Tarun Bharat’ gave an undertaking to the Council stating that the daily would refrain from publishing ‘matka’ numbers.
