Over 50,000 people are expected to participate in the Open Streets festival to be held on MG Road on February 21.

The show is being organised after the HSR Layout and Commercial Street festivals which attracted a lot of people.

The festival is being held between Anil Kumble Circle and Brigade Road junction. The stretch is not open to traffic that day. Arrangements have been made for parking at Shivajinagar Traffic and Transit Management Centre (TTMC), RBANMS Grounds and at Shantinagar TTMC. People can park their cars in these places and take BMTC shuttle services to MG Road.

The BMTC has promised to connect MG Road with almost all TTMCs. BMRCL will provide extended service till 11 pm.

The festival will have music, flea market, food and beverages. In the flea market, one can get ethnic clothes, ethnic artefacts, Gulbarga handicrafts, terracota jewellery. The festival will also feature story-telling, stand-up comedy, dance and many other activities.

The Open Streets organisers will be giving out 100 prizes to public transport users travelling by BMTC buses that day. Fifty gift coupons worth Rs 500 and 50 special commemorative cards (3D cards costing Rs 500 each and pre-loaded with currency worth Rs 500) will be given out as prizes to the lucky 100. These commemorative travel cards can be used for 10 years and the commuter needs to recharge periodically.
