Shilpi Cable Tech aims to be $1-b company by 2020
Shilpi Cable Technologies (SCTL), a specialist in a wide variety of cables and wires, endeavours to be a $1 billion company by 2020, a top company executive said.

Talking to Deccan Herald, Shilpi Cable Technologies CEO Manish Bhatt said, “SCTL endeavours to be a $1 billion company by 2020. For this, along with B2B business we have also started servicing B2C segment and with the launch of the switchgear products, we will be able to become a complete solution provider. We will continue to reinforce our expertise in the areas of innovation and technological advancement.”

“Broadly, I would divide the business of SCTL in two parts: B2B and B2C. Till one and half years back, we were only B2B company, we had the telecom vertical, where we had full RF (radio frequency) solution for outside and indoor coverage, for basically creating network solution for all operators. We are present with all operators in India. We also have a joint venture with the New Zealand-based Eyecom Telecommunications Equipment’s Limited, where we provide technological support for antennas. We are also setting up a manufacturing plant for antennas. So, we are a complete RF solution provider today,” Bhatt said.

The company has six plants in India, three in and around Delhi, one each in Hosur, Pune and Aurangabad. It has over 1,100 employees. Last year, the company had a turnover of Rs 1,408 crore for Indian operations. The company has a strong presence in India with a network of over 300 dealers and distributors in 17 states across the country. It is also planning to expand its reach to tier-II and III cities and towns, and increase its retail network.

At Elecrama 2016, the company launched a new range of wires and switchgear products like communication cables, modular switches and  MCBs/RCCBs/DBs under its retail brand SAFE.
