Four-day radiology conference begins today

The Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR), on Wednesday, announced the launch of the 18th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. The four-day conference will begin on Thursday in the City. 

The theme for the 18th edition of the annual conference is ‘Navigation’. Addressing a press conference in the City, members of the ISVIR said that over 400 delegates from across the world are expected to participate in the event. Besides sessions on a range of topics, debates, pannel discussions and presentations have been planned.

 Ahead of the event, a jury had considered research work and case presentations from across the world which have been evaluated. Awards would be given to the best ones, said Dr A K Gupta, chairman, ISVIR. 

Dr Indushekar S, organising secretary, ISVIR said that it is being held in Bengaluru for the first time. “It is being organised in collaboration with the Society of Interventional Radiology. The interventional radiologists play a key role performing the minimally-invasive procedures. The practice of vascular surgeries have come down by at least 80 per cent after the introduction of interventional radiology,” he added.
