Hip hop with a twist

'Smokey the Ghost’ will perform on February 27, 9 pm onwards, at blueFROG, Church Street. ‘Smokey the Ghost’’s music is distinct in flavour and rich in style.

He is a rapper and producer who concentrates on producing conscious Indian hip hop. Instead of the conventional, commercial perspective with hip hop, their sets usually include topics with Indian elements. This performance will proudly display the full colour of Indian hip hop fusing Carnatic, Western and conscious vibes.

He has more than 20 Tamil movies, two Bollywood films and independent material to his credit. Smokey’s persona shuttles between himself and ‘Smokey the Ghost’, which is a mix of the conscious hip hop with humour and aggression.

He has worked with renowned artistes like Vishal Dadlani, Raghu Dixit and GV Prakash, while rendering voice for movies ranging from Bollywood to Tollywood like ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Mujse Fraandship Karoge’.
