<p><br />The meeting of the Congress Core Group was held at the residence of the Prime Minister this afternoon.</p>.<p>Besides Gandhi and Singh, other leaders who attended the meeting included Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P Chidambaram and Defence Minister A K Antony.</p>.<p>Kishore Chandra Deo, a senior Congress MP from Andhra Pradesh, is the front runner for the post.</p>.<p>The Congress leadership also discussed whether the post of Deputy Speakership should be given to the Opposition as per convention or to some ally. </p>
