Two persons committed suicide in separate incidents at Indiranagar and Girinagar in the City.

A 25-year-old man, who was upset over his health problems, hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his house in Domlur II Stage in Indiranagar on Monday.

According to the police, Kiran, a native of Kolar, was residing along with three of his friends in a rented house. He had completed his graduation and was a qualified animation and graphic artist. He was doing freelance work for a few private projects.

At around 7 pm on Monday, when he was alone in the house, he hanged himself from the ceiling fan with a lungi (loincloth).

At around 9 pm, when his friends returned, they found his body hanging from the fan. They informed his family members and alerted the police. The body has been shifted for postmortem.

The police have found a death note which stated that he took the extreme step because he had eye and heart-related problems. He does not want to be a burden to anyone and decided to commit suicide, said the police.

In another incident, a 28-year-old private firm employee killed himself at his house in Banashankari III Stage, Girinagar.

The deceased Nagaraj was staying alone in the house. Preliminary investigation has revealed that he had committed suicide around four days ago.

However, the incident came to light only on Monday, when the neighbours and the house owner complained of a stench.

They informed the police and broke open the door only to find Nagaraj’s body hanging from the ceiling fan.

A few relatives had also come to visit him but they returned after noticing the door locked, assuming that he may have gone to work.

The police alerted his family members, who told the police that he was doing fine and that they had no clue why he took the extreme step.
