MEG defeated Rail Wheel Factory 4-1 in the earlier match. <br /><br />The BFC-South United game began at a frenetic pace and United were ahead early, thanks to the own goal by Manju in the seventh minute. Manju headed in a cross from United winger Santhosh in his attempt to pass the ball back to his onrushing goalkeeper Calvin.<br /><br />United could have doubled their advantage in the 16th minute when midfielder Magesh laid a delightful pass in the path of winger Senthil whose curling effort from the edge of the box bounced off the bar.<br /><br />BFC had a chance of their own in the 33rd minute when Nishu’s header went straight to the hands of the alert United goalkeeper Kabir.<br /><br />Three minutes later, midfielder Tony’s low shot was brilliantly tipped away by Calvin.<br />BFC came out determined in the second period and almost found an equaliser in the 60th minute when Nadrra, after collecting a good pass from Nishu, struck his shot straight at Kabir, who palmed it away.<br /><br />In the 83rd minute, Senthil dribbled past couple of BFC defenders and sent in a cross from the right flank for Santhosh, who slotted home.<br /><br />BFC then missed a glorious chance when Pavan placed the ball wide after being one-on-one with the United goalkeeper Kabir in the 85th minute.
