Digital archive of architecture

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has launched RIBApix, the world’s biggest visual archive devoted to architecture from across the globe.

Established in 2005 by Robert Elwall with just 5,000 images, RIBApix has a collection of 90,000 digital architectural images today.

Sourced from the British Architectural Library, the RIBApix content features the work of some of the world’s top architecture photographers, including Eric de Mare and Tony Ray-Jones. All the architectural photographs in RIBApix’s digital archive can be easily purchased or licensed through the RIBApix web shop for professional or personal use.

The RIBApix collection includes  ancient monuments and primitive rock dwellings to more modern structures such as hotels and social housing.

The archive is well represented by allied subjects such as interior design, landscape, topography, planning, construction and the decorative arts. RIBApix also offers a digitisation-on-demand service.
