'Caste report to be out in 2 months'

Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T B Jayachandra has said that the report on socio-economic census or caste census taken up in the State last year would be published in the next two months.

He said this while addressing the gathering at a government event at Gubbi Veeranna Kalakshetra here.

"The survey/census was taken up to get acquainted with the socio-economic conditions of the small and marginalised castes in the State. The information obtained from the survey will be used to design schemes to uplift the people of the deprived castes. The census will help the government to ensure social justice and equality," the minister said.
