With an old rustic charm

New menu
Last Updated 23 March 2016, 18:31 IST

Planning a family get together, a friends reunion, or a Saturday afternoon Tambola gaming? Then head to Storm Bar and Grill, considered one of the oldest dining lounges in South Delhi, which offers not just a comfortable space to relax but also a menu that caters to varying palates. Located close to the Kailash Colony Metro station, Storm, which has been in the vicinity for over 15 years, has an interesting décor with tiny platforms meant for keeping candles on one wall, while the other exuberates vibrancy with a meticulous arrangement of colourful glass bottles. Their bar counter, with ornately designed bar stools, are sure to grab your attention. Even with plush couches and chairs, the place has a rustic charm.

With the restaurant recently unveiling its summer menu, Metrolife decided to take a bite into their new offerings. Interestingly, even the menus card have been designed like newspapers.

Starting with refreshing drinks like Virgin Mojito and Lemon Ice Tea, we order Cigar Roll, a combination of smoked melted cheese and mushroom roll, served with sweet chilly sauce — a taste that is bound to linger on for quite a while. Also, their cheesy Loaded Potato Skin served with salsa and sour cream is soft and untypically crispy. From the non-vegetarian section, Ginger Chicken Fingers in chilli paste and lemon sauce leaves behind a flavourful taste of ginger — which hits hard. Mutton Peshwari Khaas, priced at Rs 475, is a combination of mutton pieces, onion, capsicum and tomato marinated in Peshwari style and cooked in charcoal.

While the Mexican Fajitas turn out to be pretty regular, thin crust Pizza Arras (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian) are very different from regular Italian pizzas. The Pasta with Penne Con Smoked Prawn is a better pick from among the Italian offerings. The new menu has a lot to offer to lovers of Indian food with dishes like Dahi Ke Kebab, Corn Seekh Kebab, Kothmir Ka Chicken Tikka, Galaouti Kebab and Raan Sikandri.
The authentic Dal Bukhara, a combination of black lentils named Dal Storm at Rs 315 from the Indian Mains is a worthy try. Though the Zaffarani Malai Kofta almost gives a dessert-like feel, the dry fruits and raisins stuffed sampling in the Mughlai gravy is too sweet to taste. Some must-try dishes from their main course section includes The Classic Fish and Chips, Lamb Roast Sizzler , Penne with Sundried Tomato, Spaghetti Con Pomodoro, Jannat-E-Numa, Firangi Patiala Handi to name a few.

And the icing on the cake are their Storm Signature Fried Ice Cream which has a fried outer layer made of cornflake base and Chocolate Lasagna. These surely don’t disappoint.
