Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday held a day-long protest against the disbanding of Lokayukta police and setting up of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
State BJP president Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister Ananth Kumar and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa took part in the protest which was held in front of Gandhi statue near Anand Rao circle.
“The chief minister has deliberately dissolved Lokayukta police to shield himself, his Cabinet colleagues and senior officials from investigation in several cases. I don’t understand why the chief minister was in such a hurry,” Yeddyurappa said.
JD(U) also launched its five-day protest against the ACB.
