Talking to reporters on the sildelies of a programme organised by the Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Co-operative (Campco) Ltd here on Saturday, she said the Dharmasthala model of rural development suited best for the effective implementation of the job guarantee scheme, and hence executing the programme in association with the SKDRDP would prove the most fruitful. Answering a question, she said the BJP government was satisfied with its performance it had shown in the past one year, where it could implement  75 per cent of its promises.

“The performance of the party in the State in the recent parliamentary polls is a clear example to this,” she noted. Asked about the government’s preparedness to face any outbreak of Chikungunya in the monsoon, Karandlaje said the government had taken special care to prevent any such possibility.

On the fertiliser supply, she said the State had sufficient stock and hence nobody need to worry.

Recalling the contributions of the founders of the organisation, she said it need to grow higher for protecting the farmers through offering competitive market for their products.
Actress Tara said Campco had the credit of developing harmony between two states, Karnataka and Kerala, by establishing areca and cocoa market between them.

In her address, MLA Mallika Prasad urged the Campco to release special chocolates for diabetic patients. She said the organisation should open more branches and should take interest in supplying fertilisers.
