Eleven people including four women and three children were killed in a ghastly mishap on the NH-16 between Nakkapalli and Kagitha tollgate near Maddilapalem in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred when a SUV in which nine members of a family were travelling from Visakhapatnam to Tuni went out of control after a tyre burst and then jumped into the opposite lane hitting a two wheeler before it was run over by a truck trailer.
A father-son duo riding the bike and nine of a family travelling in the SUV were killed on the spot.
The family travelling in the SUV belonged to Srinivas of Butchirajupalem near Gopalapatnam in Visakhapatnam city.
