Masti award for Dr M H Krishnaiah

Function on June 13 at Bangalore

The award function is jointly organised by Masti Venkatesh Iyengar Award Committee and Dr Masti Trust at Woodlands hotel in Bangalore.

The day’s programme will be inaugurated by writer Dr Vijaya which will be followed by a light music programme  by Vijay Kumar and team. Rashtrakavi Dr G S Shivarudrappa will confer the award, Jnanpith awardee Dr U R Ananthmurty will preside over the function, a release said.

Masti Puraskara

The Masti Puraskara given by the Trust will be held on June 6 (10 am) at Ravindara Kalakshetra.

The winners of the Puraskar are as follows; Novel: I place-Dr B Prabhakar Shishila, II place-Damayanti Naregalla, III place-Ravi Sasitota. A special award will be given to P Abdul Sattar.

The Katha Puraskara for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 will given to Eshwarchandra, Amaresh Nugadoni and S Vasudendra respectively. The prize will be given by Prof L S Sheshagiri Rao and Manu Baligar. The Prakashaka Puraskara will be conferred to K S Murali of Vasant Prakashana, Prakash Kambathalli of Ankita Prakashana and Chand Prakashana by B R Lakshman Rao, the release said.

The inuaguration of the oil paintings by artist Chandranath Acharya  by Kannada and Culture Department Secretary B R Jayaramaraje Urs will also held on the occasion.

A drama based on the Masti’s Yashodhara will be staged by Geetanjali and troupe and a light music programme by Halabandi and troupe has also been organised on the occasion, the release added.
