The site aspirants of Hassan city will be allotted sites by March 2017, according to Hassan Urban Development Authority (HUDA).

District In-charge Minister A Manju, on Friday, said, the works at S M Krishna Layout had already begun and will be completed by March 2017. The minister, who inspected the works, directed the developers to complete the works within the scheduled time.

Speaking to media persons, the minister said, the authorities concerned have been told to expedite the works and if everything goes as per the plan, there was a possibility of
allotting the sites to the applicants by the end of this financial year.

Manju said, 40 per cent of the sites will be distributed among the land losers. Directions were issued to HUDA chairman to convene a meeting with the farmers soon.

Underground drainage, water and power lines and other facilities will be provided to all the sites, so that the site owners will not have the need to dig the road again, he said.

These facilities were so far available only at posh layouts in Bengaluru city, he added.
The total area of the layout is 453 acres and 5,839 sites will be developed, Manju said.

Hemavathy water
Water will be provided to the layout under Amrut scheme, by the Hassan city municipal council. The government has already released funds in this regard, he said.

A 14-acre land has been marked for playground. Steps will be taken to construct a stadium, with the support of Karnataka State Cricket Board, he said.
