Realtor cheats NRI of Rs 6.44 cr

The CCB arrested a real-estate agent for swindling Rs 6.44 crore from an NRI on the pretext of investing in companies offering high returns. The sleuths also raided the residence of Ganesh D S at 15th Cross in Malleswaram.

The Malleswaram police arrested Ganesh on March 24 based on the complaint by Rajesh Ramachandran (59) on February 15, but the case was transferred to CCB. Police also suspect Ganesh of cheating another retired officer at Hosapete of Rs 8 crore. They are examining Ganesh's bank account and quizzing his wife Srilatha.

In his complaint, Ramachandran said he gave away Rs 6.44 crore between 2014 and 2016 as investments in companies, but Ganesh did not give him any interest or return the principal amount.
