JOIN USA minor fire incident was reported at the Land Acquisition office in the Revenue Department located on the 5th floor of MS Building near Vidhana Soudha on Saturday morning.
Fire officials said they received a call around 7.55 am that a fire was noticed in the room on the fifth floor of MS Building. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and they took more than 30 minutes to douse the blaze.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the cause of fire was an electrical short-circuit. A few computers, printers, inverters, documents and files stored in the cupboard were damaged. The officials have put the loss at Rs 3 lakh.
The Vidhana Soudha police, who visited the spot, said no employees were in the room, or on the floor, when the fire broke out.
The office belongs to the undersecretary of the department.
Bescom officials, along with fire officials, will conduct an inspection and submit a report. No complaint has been lodged so far, said the Vidhana Soudha police.
