Twitter abuzz as tweeters tweet updates on Carlton fire

While some of those who tweeted informed co-tweeters about the blaze and a minute to minute account of the casualties and injured, others chose to give a picture of chaos and panic that ran high.

'Hope everyone is safe' said a tweet expressing concern while another twitter was busy tweeting right from inside the Carlton tower even as the building was ablaze and thick smoke engulfed the floors.

Tweets included just one liners to "Hope People come out safe" or "God People are still stuck inside" and with some summing their stunned reaction by abbreviations `OMG' (Oh My GOD). Some quoted news channels to update fellow tweeters, some relied on information provided by those on vicinity.

The social network site worked feverishly as photos of people leaping, screaming for help and fire personnel rescuing were uploaded on the site.
