Kiran Kumar, chairman of Lalithaa Jewellery, has been awarded with the honorarary doctorate degree from Vels University, Chennai, for his business excellence.
The award was given at the sixth annual convocation of Vels University and it recognises the vital role played by Kumar in India’s jewellery industry.
Supreme Court of India Justice Jasti Chelameswar conferred the award to Kumar in the presence of founder and Chancellor of Vels University Ishari K Ganesh. Kumar introduced transparency in pricing and educated buyers on how to buy gold smartly.
He also helped in bringing down wastage charges.
