Free coaching will be conducted for students who have failed to clear their second PU examination in the first attempt, in their respective colleges, according to Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar.

Ratnakar asked children, who have scored less marks, not to get dejected and try to clear the papers in the supplementary examination.

“A 20-session coaching will be conducted for children who have not cleared the papers,” he added.

Director for Pre-University Education Dr Ramegowda said the examination would be conducted ahead of the revaluation for five examinations.

“Since the pass per cent is very low in the Arts stream, we have chosen Economics, History, English, Statistics and one other subject based on the individual college’s performance. The fifth subject will be one which has the maximum number of failures in a given college,” he said.

Exams from July 1 to 13
The supplementary examination will be held from July 1 to July 13. The last date to pay the fee for the examination is June 6. The last date for colleges to remit the fee to the treasury is June 7.

Principals of colleges have been asked to collect the fee based on the result sheets. The fee for each subject is Rs 101 and for three or more subjects, it is Rs 302.
