Government may propose Justice Farook as Lokayukta

The state government is contemplating over recommending the name of retired High Court judge Justice A M Farook for the post of Lokayukta, instead of Justice S R Nayak.

Secretariat sources said the government was considering Justice Farook for the post in the wake of Governor Vajubhai Vala, for the second time,  returning the file on the recommendation to appoint Justice Nayak for the post. The government has to propose Justice Farook’s name in the consultative committee meeting, before recommending it to the governor.
