The owl, which belongs to ‘Brown Wood’ species, was spotted at a coffee plantation in Chettalli near here.  The owl was sitting on the branch of a tree, as it had sustained a bone fracture.  A local citizen Nithin caught the owl and handed it over to the Forest Department officials.

Though the health condition of the owl was critical, later it started recovering when it was given treatment by a veterinary doctor. Assistant Conservator of Forests (Wild Life) Vijayakumar said that the rare owl will be handed over to the Chamarajendra Zoo, once it was recovered completely.
