Karnataka Janata Party MLA from Aland B R Patil on Wednesday filed a complaint against two national television news channels — Times Now and India Today — with News Broadcasting Standards Authority for telecasting a ‘cash-for-vote’ sting operation.
“Neither I am involved in demanding money from anybody nor any person offered money to me in exchange of votes” he told reporters demanding a high-level probe on this issue.
He claimed “By telecasting casual discussions with friends in a hotel in the television channels as sting operation, these channels have projected me as a corrupt politician indulging in unscrupulous activity.”
Patil said that that the imputations telecast in the programme were highly derogatory defamatory, concocted and fabricated.
