<p>Two Dalit professors suspended from the University of Hyderabad for having police cases against them have gone on a relay hunger strike seeking justice. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The teachers, Prof K Y Ratnam and Assistant Professor Tathagath Sengupta, face police cases in their alleged role in instigating students to attack the vice-chancellor’s lodge in the UoH campus on March 2. <br /><br />The UoH Executive Council suspended them on Monday as rules specify that faculty members facing police cases cannot be allowed to teach. <br /><br />Support for the suspended teachers, who went on with their hunger strike for the second day on Wednesday, came from several academic institutions across the country. <br /><br />The university has said that the suspension would come for automatic review within 90 days. <br /></p>
