<p>The Madiwala traffic police donned the role of an automobile mechanics after a construction material-laden mini truck broke down on Hosur Road on Wednesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>A senior police officer said, “The news of the traffic police repairing a mini truck went viral when a passerby clicked photographs and posted it on social media. Such acts by the policemen motivates other police personnel and also brings in a sense of confidence among the public about police being friendly and approachable.” <br /><br />R Vasu, police inspector attached to Madiwala traffic police station said, “Around 9.20 am, the mini tempo broke down while it was on his way to the city. Nataraja and Raja Ghanti, constables of Madiwala traffic police, who were at the junction noticed the truck stuck in middle of the road. They tried moving the truck, but in vain, as the vacuum in the valve of the engine had drained out and it could not move. Also traffic piled up till Electronics City junction, Rupena Agrahara and surrounding areas." “They immediately opened the engine and found the belt had snapped. I also rushed to the spot after the constables alerted me. We got a belt from a nearby automobile spare parts shop and found that the driver did not have any tools. We stopped a passerby and borrowed a spanner and fixed the belt. The driver started the vehicle and went ahead while the traffic was cleared. All this was done in a span of 15 minutes.”<br /></p>
